3 reasons why this sandwich is the best

With no bread we decided to make this sandwich instead and it turned out to be the best sandwich we have ever made. Here are 3 reasons why.

EASY TO ASSEMBLE

Number one it is easy to assemble. Unlike bread, this frozen paratha or flatbread is bigger in size which means you can throw any filling on top without missing the bulls eye.

We bought a can of fish luncheon meat and used that as our filling. We choose fish because of low cholesterol diet plan. You can watch our previous videos why.

Put another cheese and finally place the quarter piece on top of the cheese.

We made a quarter piece by cutting it like this. Each frozen paratha packet consist of 5 pieces. This means one packet can make 4 delicious sandwiches.

Fold the bottom layer over to cover the fillings. Remember to give the sides a good squeeze or else the flaps may unfold during baking.

FILLINGS DO NOT OOZE OUT

The second best thing about this sandwich is the fillings will not ooze out.

If this was a bread sandwich then you will probably see cheese oozing out from the sides or the meat might slide out while you are flipping the sandwich over. But this sandwich will not have any of that problem. Everything will stays nice and snuggly inside while we flip and toss to brown both sides.

Add a little oil to the pan and pan fry both sides until brown. Remember to press down the sandwich which will help to keep the flaps down when you bake it later.

This browning technique will eliminate the need of an egg wash thus save you one egg. I normally have trouble deciding what to do with the egg balance after each wash.

SUPER CRISPY & CRUNCHY

The third reason why this sandwich is the best because it's super crispy and crunchy.

We made it even more crunchier and crispier by oven baked it after we pan fried the sandwich.

The layering in the flatbread gives paratha that distinct puffiness similar to puff pastries.

This technique of pan frying and baking will make sure this sandwich stays crispy longer

Bake the sandwich for about 10 to 15 minutes in the oven at 170C. Keep you eye on it. After it has balloon or puffed up to your liking, you can take it out.

Unlike bread this flatbread sandwich will not become soggy and limp easily.

TIPS : Not all brands of frozen paratha will give you the volume or puffiness during baking. Our favorite brand is Spring Home Paratha. BUY
